Johan Vlok Louw's most recent novel, Sons of Mud, was shortlisted as Book of the Year 2024 at the South African Literary Awards (SALA) by wRite Associates and was longlisted for the Sunday Times Award — the third time Louw has been recognized by this prestigious prize, following A Gap in the Hedge (2017) and Eric the Brave (2012).
Karoo Dusk (2014) was shortlisted for the University of Johannesburg Prize for Creative English Literature and translated into Afrikaans.
